SEAL Showdown
Not in model cards
Users of Scale's Playground app chat with a model and sometimes compare its reply with a random opponent's reply. Scale ranks models with a Bradley-Terry model that controls for length and formatting. Rankings can be split by region, profession and age.
Votes come from contributors in more than 100 countries. On 2025-09-20 GPT-5 Chat ranked first, then Claude Opus 4.1. Scale withholds preference data for 60 days after collection.
